In 1993, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus introduced the first Hotel Management Program in Thailand by offering a Bachelor's Degree of Business (BBA) in Hotel Management. The success of this program, administered by the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management (HTM), led to the development of additional service related programs. The Faculty's name was thus changed to "The Faculty of Service Industries (FSI)." In 2006 PSU split the FSI into two Faculties including the current Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism. The FHT curriculum was refocused on the various markets in Hospitality and Tourism and the degree was developed to be a BBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management. One of the Faculty's objectives is to develop itself to provide the best academic skills and experiences to further our students' careers more effectively. In order to achieve this objective, the Faculty established a hotel named "PSU Lodge" which is designed to be a studying and training venue as well as a comfortable place for guests to stay while visiting Phuket.
